Just tilt the iPhone on to its side and you get the big map view, this allows you to see the various different travels that you've made in the last day, week, month, year or since the application started.  These views do update dynamically so if you receive an update they will rescale to show the full route.  Again these selections are 'since the start of' so if its the 3rd of the month it will show the last 3 days travel.
